Securities Broker Dealer: Two elderly widows entrusted their finances to a stockbroker who was also branch manager of an NASD member broker dealer. Funds were improperly taken from the accounts and unsuitable investment decisions were made. Following an arbitration, the panel ordered repayment of funds to one claimant and awarded attorney fees pursuant to state elder abuse laws. The other claimant received a refund of the amounts taken from her account.

Premises Liability: Malibu jury returned a defense verdict in favor of our clients, a wine manufacturer and a supermarket chain. Plaintiff alleged she developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome as a result of a bottle falling from a free standing wine display, which she claimed was poorly constructed and unstable. Defendants maintained that the display was stable and built appropriately, and that plaintiff caused the bottle to fall. Her demand at trial was million.
Monje v. Petersen Dean

Premises Liability: A Glendale jury returned a defense verdict in favor of a demolition company and temporary fence provider in a personal injury claim by a quadrapaligic whose wheelchair "tripped" over the metal tubing which formed the base of the fence. The jury agreed with defendants that the condition, the tubing, was open and obvious and did not extend an unreasonable distance onto the sidewalk.
Chamberlain v. S&S Rent-a-Fence, et al.

Product Liability: A manufacturer of a demineralizing power car wash was held not negligent, nor in breach of contract. Plaintiff, an animal rescue company, claimed that defendant had misrepresented the uses of the machine and that the car wash machine was defective in design, resulting in property damage to multiple vehicles. A Valencia jury found that plaintiff's misuse of the product, rather than a product failure or any misrepresentation by defendant, caused the damage.
